Albuquerque –
According to an email sent at 7:00 AM from APD’s sworn PIO, Chase Jewell, the Albuquerque Police Department was addressing reports of an active shooter at Presbyterian Downtown Hospital. Officers swiftly responded and have determined that it was a false alarm. According to APD, the alerts were mistakenly transmitted by hospital security. We have also received reports from individuals who work at Presbyterian Rust; they were also advised there was an active shooter at this facility and to “run, hide, fight.” However, as of now, there are no reports of injuries or outstanding suspects at any Presbyterian facility.
Drivers and onlookers may notice a significant law enforcement presence deployed at both the Downtown and Rust Presbyterian hospitals, along with an additional police presence at other Presbyterian facilities across the city.
Employees who work at Presbyterian Rust were given the “all-clear” by Presbyterian security at 7:12 AM.
