Albuquerque –
On October 29th, 2025, the Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched to a shooting at Central and 65th near an ART bus stop.
When officers arrived they found at least one victim with a gunshot wound and rescue was dispatched to the scene. They took the person to a local hospital for treatment.
According to APD, an unknown offender who was sitting near a bus stop waved at a vehicle going eastbound on Central from Coors, which escalated to a verbal altercation. The man sitting near the bus stop produced a firearm and shot 12 gunshots at the vehicle, striking the driver.
The victim was shot and critically injured. He was transported to a local hospital and is now in stable condition.
While on scene, we saw Transit Safety and APD holding down a scene. We could see bullet casings near the bus platform.
Witnesses said the suspect fled and it is unclear if they were taken into custody. Legacy Academy at the intersection of Coors and Central was put on a brief lockdown during the incident.
