A parent blocks a child’s eyes from seeing the blood soaked Dodge Challenger that was involved in a violent shooting that left one teen wounded.

Albuquerque – On November 6th, 2023, APD’s Violent Crime Unit was called out to Molten Place NW, in response to a 17-year-old teen who was shot in the head. The incident was an apparent road rage and neighbors tell us they heard at least 5 shots during the incident.

When we arrived at the shooting location, we observed APD’s crime scene unit working the scene. The scene was in a quiet neighborhood where people were waking up to a violent crimes investigation. The primary focus appeared to be at a blue Dodge Challenger. It also appears the car drove to Molten Place NW and medical personnel took the teen to the hospital from this area. The teen was last listed in critical condition at UNMH.

Parents could be seen walking their children to the bus stops as the victim’s car sat waiting to be processed for evidence. The parents shielded their young children’s eyes from seeing blood inside the car as they walked by.

As the investigation into this incident continues, we will update you if we learn more information.
