Albuquerque –
Albuquerque Police are currently investigating a death of an individual on the I-40 on-ramp at Carlisle. The on-ramp is closed.
Drivers, please do NOT go around emergency vehicles to enter the on-ramp. Ignoring the police vehicles blocking the ramp puts officers and investigators at risk, as they may be walking there. Please respect this roadblock.
Other Crashes Around the Metro
Around 7:10 AM Albuquerque Fire Rescue and APD officers responded to Louisiana and Domingo for a crash which occurred.
At 7:25AM, Officers are also responding to a crash at Eubank and Candelaria, reportedly this incident involves a motorcycle vs a city garbage truck.
The NM DOT signs around the metro are warning drivers of thick heavy fog, reduced visibility and advising drivers to reduce their speed.
If we have updates on any of these incidents, we will update you.
UPDATE:
Regarding the I-40 incident, APD sent out an update stating:
AFR responded to a report of an unresponsive individual in the area of Carlisle Blvd. and I-40. First-responders determined the person is deceased. An APD crime scene investigator is responding to the scene. Details are limited at this time.
Police have closed the westbound I-40 on-ramp to Carlisle while they investigate the circumstances of the death.
UPDATE 2:
APD released a statement saying “APD homicide detectives are starting an investigation because of the suspicious nature of the death.”
Originally, investigators considered that the person who died may have been the victim of a hit-and-run. Officers at the scene were observed searching for camera footage from nearby businesses and asking if New Mexico Department of Transportation (NM DOT) cameras captured the incident.
I was driving in that traveling east bound! Not as scary as combat or the worst fog I have been in, but it was bad enough!
The typical stupid and useless NM drivers thought that fog means speed up and drag race at 0600. It’s scary enough with 28,542,000 truckers on I-40, but then you add the typical NM (some how allowed to drive) driver with pitch black tinted windows in fog, that just has to text in drive, who believes that the laws or the laws of physics applies to them. No wonder NM ranks dead last in literacy. You want positive spin? Well, since NM just has to vote for the same corrupt and worthless politicians each election, NM ranks number one in crime, murder, poverty, and mental health issues. That’s right folks, if you want failure, NM demands it and keeps voting for it. If all the dems destroying this state resigned and put quality leaders in, NM could be one of the best states in the Union. But noooooo, selfish people love crime, poverty, and keeping their mijo on the streets, to commit even more crimes. That’s right- you vote dem, blood is on YOUR hands too!!
In regards to the Albuquerque Metro…glad to see the snow plows sanding wet roads when it’s 34° this morning. Southern Colorado must be laughing their asses off watching “live” TV reports from roving reporters detailing the treacherous conditions.
