Traffic Crash Causes Major Headaches Near Louisiana Overpass in ABQ

Albuquerque –

Around 3:15 PM, calls came in to 911 dispatch about a motor vehicle crash on the overpass of Louisiana Blvd near I-40. The callers stated that at least two people were ejected from a vehicle, and one of the vehicles rolled over near the northbound lane.

AFR responded to the scene and started to treat the victims of the crash. While on the scene, we saw at least one person being loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. AFR confirmed that there were transported with no life threatening injuries at the scene.

The Albuquerque Police began shutting down exits and on-ramps to I-40, diverting traffic while the crash was being investigated. The northbound lanes will remain closed for some time as the scene is investigated.

UPDATE:

Albuquerque Fire Rescue informed us that Engine 13, Rescue 13 and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to Louisiana Blvd at the I-40 Westbound off-ramp for a 29-Delta, MVA with vehicle rollover. Crews arrived on scene and confirmed one vehicle on its roof. Both occupants from the rolled over vehicle were able to self extricate. A total of three patients were transported to the hospital. No life threatening injuries were reported.
