Triple Shooting in Foothills Leaves One Clinging to Life

Albuquerque

On September 2nd, at around 11:30am, calls came in about shots being fired at a town home near Tramway and Montgomery NE in the ABQ foothills. The home is a rental residence at the 4500 block of Villa Loma Ln. N.E. Officers originally responded and held the scene until they could get an update on the conditions of the victims from hospital staff. At around 4:30pm this evening the shooting investigation turned into a serious crimes callout because one of the victim’s injuries is now life-threatening.

Detectives and the Major Crime Scene Team could be seen conducting interviews and gathering evidence.  At one point we could see several people gathered in a car wash bay being detained.  Eventually federal agents showed up and took the people away in two separate unmarked busses to an unknown location. An anonymous witness said he has been suspicious of cartel activity going on at the home but he was “scared to death to get involved“. It is unclear if the residents bussed away were here legally or not.

This is an ongoing investigation by the police.  We will update this story if and when we learn more information.
