ALBUQUERQUE –
On Tuesday afternoon, June 4th, 2024, at around 4 p.m., we heard about a double shooting at an apartment complex near Juan Tabo and Candelaria NE. The shooting happened on the 3100 block of Jane Pl NE, at an apartment complex called The Retreat Apartment Homes. We learned that two people were shot, and one of them, a juvenile female, died at the scene. The other person, a man, was transported to UNMH in grave condition.
Neighbors who refused to speak on camera said that drugs dealings were involved in whatever happened at the complex today.
APD has not released any details about the incident. Homicide detectives and crime scene analysts were on scene processing the area for evidence and fact gathering. Stay tuned here on our social media for updates. We will update this story when we learn more.
UPDATE:
On June 12, 2024, we learned that the second victim from this shooting died. The victims have been identified as 17 year-old Kylee Silva and Abdullah Abbas.
