Shortly after 10:15 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 4401 Morris St. NE, the Eagle Point Apartments, for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building. The caller advised that there was significant structural damage and one person trapped inside the vehicle.

Upon arrival, AFR’s Engine 16 located the vehicle and made contact with the individual inside. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. The person’s condition is not known.

AFR and the Albuquerque Police Department requested the assistance of the Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) because the building sustained significant structural damage, which would lead to the displacement of residents.

On a October 7, AFR issued an update that said:

On October 6, 2025 at 10:12 pm, AFR was dispatched to 4401 Morris NE for a 29D-1, reports of a vehicle into a building, with occupants trapped. Engine 16, Engine 9, Rescue 9, Rescue 15, Squad 2 and Battalion 3 were dispatched. Engine 16 arrived and confirmed a vehicle into an apartment building with one person trapped in the vehicle. Crews began to extricate the victim, and search/evacuate the four involved units. The stairwell was destroyed from the impact so ground ladders were utilized to access the second floor. Squad 2 evaluated the building for structural integrity. 6 individuals were displaced. Red Cross assisted with of three of them. The occupant of the vehicle was the only person transported from the scene.
