At 7:40 PM on Sunday, October 6th, shots rang out near Central and Espanola. A caller dialed 911 to report that a woman had been shot in the chest. Responding officers were informed that ShotSpotter recorded five shots fired near where the individual was struck.
When officers arrived the found one woman shot at least once. Officers have asked rescue to step up their response. Officers reportedly put a tourniquet on the woman who was shot, it is unknown which limb the tourniquet was applied to. Authorities have shut down westbound traffic on Central.
Emergency personnel are transporting the woman to a local area hospital. Her condition is currently unknown.
At the time of this posting, it is believed that the offender is still on the loose. Police officers are actively searching the area for the person responsible for the shooting.

All they need to do is ask the woman who shot her, it wasn’t random, she knows who shot her!
