Albuquerque –
Around 2PM, a witness told us he saw a group of teens get out of a car with AR-15s and batter a teen near Central Ave. and Eubank Blvd. The witness said one of the teens fired a shot and they got into the vehicle. The male victim was not struck with gunfire.
APD was able to locate the vehicle and tracked it back to the 140 block of Wisconsin St. NE and a group of teens fled into the home with AR-15s.
APD surrounded the residence and a few minutes later, APD had a bunch of teens in custody. One of the teens was being interviewed and low key mentioned he had a gunshot wound to his leg.
AFR came to the scene to check him out and wrapped his leg in medical tape. He was not transported by ambulance to the hospital. He hobbled back into the patrol unit with assistance from APD officers.
APD had the block between Chico and Central blocked off while the search warrant was being executed of the home. We observed APD’s Gang Unit on scene helping with the investigation.
We will update this story if we learn anymore information on these youngsters.
