Albuquerque –
On September 13, 2024 at 7:31am Engine 13 was dispatched to the area of Carlisle and I-40 reference an outside fire. Additional calls came into the alarm room and an AAS unit in the area confirmed that a small structure was on fire at Lobo Little League. The fire response was then upgraded to a structure fire response, at 2101 Bryn Mawr NE. Engine 13 arrived on scene and reported a working shed fire, extending to surrounding vegetation. Engine 13 stretched a line for fire control and established their own water supply.Â
After overcoming access issues the fire was controlled and contained to the single structure. There was significant damage to the structure, which was the baseball fields bathroom facilities. The structure is likely a total loss.Â
“A homeless person set up camp behind there and started fire and spread to the bathrooms,” said Ramon Trujillo, President of Lobo Little League
Trujillo went on to say the City of Albuquerque was going to be on site on Monday to do some upgrades and repairs to the bathroom. The work was scheduled before the fire but now the structure is a total loss.
“They are going to have to build new bathrooms,” said Trujillo
Lobo Little League is in the midst of their fall ball league and games happen throughout the week. Trujillo told us that he ordered porta potties for the field. The schedule will continue as planned with no delays. Lobo Little League has been around for 53 years with many generations enjoying the game of baseball at the fields.
Little league fields across the metro are having lots of issues with homelessness and their shenanigans. Those who maintain the fields have seen lots of vandalism and theft from the properties by transients and other hooligans in various areas of the city.

Imagine a city free of these worthless people, where law enforcement can do the job they want to do and clean up our city.
I just had some dipshit starting a fire in the alley behind my home up against a business on the other side. I sprayed them and their fire down with a hose while they yelled at me and threatened to break into my home and kill my whole family. They left to go to start a dumpster fire down by another business down the way. They never did come and try to kill me or my family.
Such a lovely town Dems have turned Abq into.
This is unrelated to this story but curious if you heard about the swat bust last night around 9pm at 236 Grove NE? Didn’t see anything posted.
The “unhoused”: why we can’t have nice things.
