At around 9:10 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) was dispatched to a working structure fire in the 11400 block of San Jacinto Ave NE. Initial reports into AFR indicated that a person or persons might be trapped. AFR dispatched a full response, mobilizing twelve units to the scene due to a high probability of occupant entrapment. The lineup included Battalion Chiefs 1 and 2, Engines 5, 8, 9, and 12, Ladders 5 and 9, Rescues 8 and 12, and Squads 2 and 3.
Upon arrival, AFR crews initiated an aggressive primary and secondary search of the single-story residence. No occupants were located during the searches, numerous pets were located. AFR continues overhaul operations to extinguish any remaining hot spots.
AFR is currently standing by for NM GAS to secure and shut off the gas line.
Presently, the cause of the fire has not been released. As of this posting, we do not know the condition of the animals that were found. If we learn more about this, we will update you.

At 10:35 PM, AFR post an update on social media which said:
On November 10, 2024, at approximately 9:11 p.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 11420 San Jacinto NE for a reported fire at a single-family residential structure. Engine 12 arrived on scene and reported smoke and flames showing from the structure and roof, confirming a working house fire. Engine 12 stretched a line to the front door for search and fire control. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of their arrival. The home suffered extensive damage, including severe damage to the roof. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. However, 12 cats that were in the home received treatment from AFR personnel and survived. Numerous others cats that were in the house were unfortunately found deceased. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. No additional information is available at this time
