At around 10:05 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 201 Eubank Blvd SE, for a working fire at a storage facility. This is the Extra Space Storage facility. Upon arrival, AFR confirmed there were two to four storage units involved in the blaze. AFR is was establishing water supply lines to knock down the fire. Numerous AFR Crews that had just finished at the San Jacinto Ave NE fire, were sent to fight this blaze.

AFR is currently inspecting adjacent storage units to confirm the fire hasn’t spread. Right now, crews are focused on overhaul operations and presently don’t require aerial support for fire suppression.

It is unknown how the blaze started. However, if we learn more, we will update you.

UPDATE:

Albuquerque Fire Rescue released an update on this fire which stated:

On November 10, at approximately 10:00pm, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the Extra Space Storage facility located at 201 Eubank blvd SE  for reports of a possible Structure Fire. AFR Rescue 5 arrived on scene and reported a large commercial building with working fire conditions from multiple 2nd story units in the middle of the property.  The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes of their arrival. Damage to the structure was mostly contained to the units of origin.  No injuries of civilians or firefighters was reported.  Cause has been determined to be accidental/unknown.  No additional information available at this time.
