On September 4, 2024, at approximately 5:18 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) responded to a reported structure fire at a small, abandoned tire shop located at 2403 Central NW.

Upon arrival, Ladder 1 crews observed a commercial building with flames visible from the front entrance. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control within 17 minutes. They were able to contain the majority of the damage to the southeast corner of the structure. Crews remained on scene until approximately 7:40 AM, conducting overhaul to address any smoldering embers and mitigate the risk of a rekindling

There were no reported injuries among either civilians or firefighters.

AFR fire investigators are currently on the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
