Albuquerque Firefighters Quickly Contain Blaze at Fire-Prone Fourplex

Albuquerque –

On the evening of September 3rd, 2024, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a fourplex on 7901 Marquette Ave NE around 9:18 PM. The building, which was boarded up and had previously experienced multiple fires, had flames coming from the south side when Medic 5 arrived.

Crews quickly took action, with Ladder 5 opening the structure and Engine 11 working to control the fire. Medic 5 and Rescue 5 conducted searches of the area. Crews brought the blaze under control within 9 minutes, confining most of the damage to the front unit. AFR stayed on scene until approximately 11:05 PM mopping up hot spots and monitoring for any additional flare-ups.

No one was injured, and investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
