Albuquerque, NM – APD’s civilian director of communications gave media an update about all of the homicides being investigated this weekend. The first update was about a triple homicide which resulted during a birthday party for a high school senior in NE Albuquerque near Hilton and Washington NE. At some point after midnight an individual or individuals started shooting at people inside the home and two eighteen year olds and a 2o year old all males were killed. a seventeen year old was also shot but her injury was non life threatening. It is unclear what led to the shooting but investigators are asking for party goers to upload any video from the night to a online portal run by APD for evidence purposes. No one is in custody and none of the victims were named pending next of kin notifications

The second homicide scene happened at around 7:30AM this morning and was the result of a domestic violence incident. At some point the female half involved got word to police that she was being held against will by her recently estranged boyfriend. When officers arrived they heard shots being fired from inside the home and they retreated unsure if they were being shot at. Eventually officers did enter the home and found the ex boyfriend had escaped through a window and they found the female dead inside. The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Julian Falero. Falero already had an outstanding warrant for a previous shooting against a co-worker. The woman killed was not identified. Officers are actively searching for Falero.
