APD Confirms Officer and Offender Both Shot During Shootout in War Zone

Albuquerque – APD’s Chief Medina gave a brief update about tonight’s officer involved shooting that took place near Dallas and Central in the metro’s War Zone. Chief Medina said one officer has been shot in both hands and is being treated at UNMH. The offender was also shot in extremities(arm/leg) and is also being treated at UNMH and is under guard by police.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting but we will most likely learn the offender should have been incarcerated already for some other charge and was let out early for some ridiculous reason.
