APD Identifies Suspect and Victim Killed in Active Shooter Incident in Glenwood Hills Neighborhood

Foothills Albuquerque –

APD released the name of the suspect that was accused of shooting at random victims driving along Montgomery in the Glenwood Hills neighborhood. He has been identified as John Dawson Hunter, 52, of Albuquerque, N.M.

We are being told he was having some sort of mental health issue before the shooting and started firing at cars driving by his house through a window. Bernalillo County Assessor records show a John Dawson owns a home at 13136 Montgomery Blvd NE.

The house pictured above is where APD officers shot and killed Hunter. He died in the driveway of the home. There was evidence in the driveway of where Hunter died.

Officials also released the name of the female victim that was killed by Hunter as Alicia Hall 31, of Albuquerque. There was also an adult male and teenage female injured during the active shooting incident. APD Police Chief Harold Medina spoke at a press conference and said that only two officers were wounded in the gun battle. It has been learned that at least three Officers were actually wounded from wall shrapnel during the initial gun battle.

Court records show no criminal record or prior police activity at the Hunter residence.
