Homicide Suspect “didn’t give a shit” about Victim

Augustus Brasmer is accused of murder

Downtown Albuquerque – On March 15th, 2022, at around 10PM Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched to a fight in progress in front of the Sunshine Theatre located at 120 Central Ave. SW. When officers arrived a male subject was found with a knife wound to the chest area.

A suspect was located on scene and was identified as Augustus Brasmer, 30, of Albuquerque. He was taken into custody at that time. He was then interviewed by police at their headquarters. According to the criminal complaint, the two men were in a physical fight and by standers broke it up. Once the fight was broken up Brasmer once again approached the victim and stabbed him in the chest. Brasmer admitted to stabbing Sheldon Saunders. The fight was over Brasmer’s skateboard.

The complaint says the suspect had no remorse and “didn’t give a shit” about what had happened to Saunders.

Brasmer does not have a criminal record in New Mexico. This is Albuquerque’s 29th homicide of 2022.
