ABQRAW staffUpdated: November 19, 2021 03:05 PMPosted: November 19, 2021 10:30 AMSE Albuquerque – APD is investigating the cities latest homicide at the Bow and Arrow Lodge in southeast Albuquerque.
According to Officers, a call came in shortly after 8 a.m. about a man who was hit by a vehicle. Officers responded to the scene at 8300 Central Ave. SE, where witnesses say a man had been run over several times, by the driver of a vehicle still on scene. Officers were able to pull the man from under the vehicle but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
APD Detectives were interviewing witnesses on scene, and a suspect was also taken into custody near the scene after trying to run away immediately after the incident.
The suspect has been identified as Ruben Tafoya. According to a criminal complaint, it is apparent drug deal gone bad. Tafoya tried to purchase drugs after giving him cash. The victim was followed by Tafoya to the Bow and Arrow Lodge where he hit the victim.
The Tafoya continued to run the victim over. The victim was able to identify the offender before passing away on scene. The victim is named Arthur Lopez.
