Detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department are investigating an overnight shooting in the area of San Pedro Dr. and Marquette Ave. NE that resulted in the death of a man.

Around 1:35 AM on August 31, APD officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered an adult male in a parking lot with a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts to perform life-saving measures, the man died from their injuries at the scene.

APD homicide detectives arrived at the listed location to initiate an investigation.

UPDATE:

We have learned that this homicide actually took place at the Elk’s Lodge at, 525 San Pedro Dr SE. The APD’s Public Information Officer reported the initial location of San Pedro Dr. and Marquette Ave. NE to the media, which was inaccurate.

Keith Thompson, 56, was taken into custody by APD on Sunday afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting. The victim’s name has not been released.
