Albuquerque –

Around 8:30 AM today, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to reports of an unresponsive infant at a home in the 7600 block of Briar Ridge Ave. NW.

Rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the one-month-old baby was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department’s Northwest Area Command also responded and called in detectives.

APD’s Crimes Against Children Unit is now investigating the infant’s death. Details are extremely limited.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
