Around 5:40 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Department responded to a severe injury crash at Central and Elizabeth. Dispatch received a report indicating the motorcycle rider was motionless.
When we arrived at the crash, we did not see the downed motorcycle rider, so we suspect the rider may have been transported to a nearby hospital by AFR. We observed that the vehicles involved were a pickup truck and a Harley trike.
Regrettably, we’ve just been informed by APD via email that the incident is now being treated as fatal crash. Consequently, APD officers are now actively investigating this fatal crash at the intersection of Central Avenue NE and Elizabeth Street NE. Westbound Central Avenue is blocked at Elizabeth Street NE.
The public is encouraged to steer clear of the area and find an alternate route.
