At around 12:15 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department dispatched officers to a reported shooting at Morris St NE and Love Ave NE. When officers arrived, they were unable to locate a victim. However, it was apparent that a crime had occurred as there were purportedly traces of blood in the area.
APD discovered that someone had taken the victim to a UNMH in a pickup truck and reportedly dropped the victim off there. Presently, we do not know the victim’s status.
An eyewitness reports the presence of police in this area. They also observe officers with their guns drawn and notice that crime scene tape blocks off a home. It is possible that APD is trying to take the offender for this shooting into custody.
We have a reporter headed to this scene to gather more information. We will update this story when we learn more.
The Albuquerque Metro area has experienced a tumultuous 24 hours. Last night, just before 9:30 PM, an offender shot two individuals at the Cinnamon Tree Apartments. Around 10:00 PM, the male victim died from his gunshot wound. Law enforcement did not take the perpetrator of the Cinnamon Tree shooting into custody. Earlier today, another male was killed in a shooting at the Ridge Apartments on 557 Tramway Blvd. APD took a person into custody for the fatal shooting at Ridge Apartment.
