An APD officer walks out of the courtyard at the scene of our latest metro homicide located in SE Albuquerque.
According to APD’s graveyard shift PIO Officer Chase Jewell, their Homicide Unit has been called out to the area of Dallas St SE and Bell Ave SE in regards to an individual who died.
Reportedly, just before 4am on January 21, 2023, APD Officers in the War Zone area of Albuquerque were called to the area of Dallas and Bell in response to a shooting. When Officers arrived, they found one individual who had succumbed at the scene to a gunshot wound. As a result, the APD Homicide Unit has been called out to investigate the shooting.

The homicide scene was located at 7900 Bell SE at an apartment complex. This complex has historically had many calls to it for gun shots and other disturbances over the last few years.
According to Officer Jewell, an update will be provided at a later time.
This will be the third APD homicide in Albuquerque for 2023. There have also been two suspicious deaths that have not been ruled homicides at time of writing.
