NW ABQ – The Albuquerque Police Department have been called out to investigate a homicide in the 10400 block of Vista Del Sol NW. According to APD, when officers arrived on scene to do a welfare check at approximately 1:30pm, they found a female victim that had been fatally stabbed. An eyewitness reportedly saw a very bloodied and naked male suspect being removed from the crime scene, where he was then taken into police custody.

A family member on scene told us that for several hours, they had called APD in an attempt to have APD assist them with a welfare check. The family made three calls to APD, but the family finally gave up on waiting to see if police would answer their desperate calls for help. The family ultimately decided to go in and disassemble a door to gain entry to the home. Once inside, they discovered the most horrific scene all on their own. It wasn’t until the family found their deceased loved one that APD responded.

This is the second homicide that APD’s homicide detectives are working on today. Details are still limited, however we will update you with more information once it is available.

This is the fourth homicide in less than 37 hours. It is the 161th homicide in the Albuquerque area for 2022.
