The Albuquerque Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing veteran. Jim Willis, 43, was last seen on July 6, 2023, driving his wife’s silver Ford Expedition with NM license plate AYZF51. The vehicle that Mr. Willis was driving was found today on the West Mesa. APD Officers are concerned that Mr. Willis may be in danger.
Willis is a 100% disabled veteran who suffers from the effects of a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), manic depression, and PTSD. He was last seen wearing a grey Rubicon t-shirt and unknown color pants.
Willis’s family is concerned for his well-being and is asking anyone who has seen him or has any information about his whereabouts to contact the Albuquerque Police Department at 505-242-COPS or the Missing Persons Unit at 505-242-2677.

- He is 6’1″ tall and weighs approximately 235 pounds.
- He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Today, we received distressing news regarding the disappearance of Jim Willis. At 8:40 AM, an email from the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) informed us that the Endangered Missing Alert for Mr. Willis has been cancelled. Gilbert Gallegos, APD’s civilian Public Information Officer (PIO), stated in the email that Mr. Willis has been found, but he was found dead. No other information was provided.
We, at ABQ RAW, want to extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Willis’ family, friends, and everyone who knew him. We understand that this is likely an incredibly difficult time and a devastating loss for those who were close to Mr. Willis. Our thoughts and sympathies are with them during this challenging time.
