Albuquerque –

Around 9:30AM, the Albuquerque Police Department was called about a man abusing a resident at a home on the 900 block of Pheasant Run Dr. SW. When officers arrived a victim was able to exit the house and had abuse marks all over her body.

According to a criminal complaint, 40-year-old Adam Castillo was keeping his girlfriend hostage and was abusing her over the last few days. The female victim stated that Castillo battered her and sexually assaulted her.

APD set up a perimeter around the home and began to make public address announcements to the suspect inside. Officers were eventually able to establish a phone conversation with the suspect. After successful conversations with Castillo he peacefully surrendered to police.

This is the second domestic violence incident involving the couple in the last year. The other incident was investigated by the Rio Rancho Police Department and was tossed because the girlfriend did not want to pursue charges.

In this most recent case, Castillo has now been charged with aggravated battery against a household member, sexual assault, and criminal sexual penetration. Chances are this lovely couple will once again make up before court and this case will also get dismissed.
