APD Shoots and Kills Man During Confrontation at Gas Station

Westside Albuquerque –

On August 28th, 2022, around 11:15PM, Albuquerque Police were dispatched to a vehicle with a man passed out behind the wheel in a gas station parking lot at 2721 Coors NW.

When officers approached the man the officers had some sort of confrontation with him. According to APD, the man reached inside his vehicle during the confrontation and officers opened fire. The male individual died as a result of gunshot wounds. All officers are reportedly ok.

This is the 116th homicide of 2022 (these cases are considered homicide by the OMI) A multi jurisdiction task force will as always investigate this shooting. This is the 7th APD officer involved shooting resulting in death.
