Today at approximately 2:30 PM, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle, it was described as a maroon Mustang, driving around the area of 2nd and Osuna NW.
When deputies located the vehicle and when they made contact with the vehicle, it was found to be occupied by two male individuals. The driver of the Mustang refused to comply with deputies’ commands and proceeded to drive toward the deputies in a threatening manner. The vehicle fled the scene which prompted a pursuit by deputies.
The pursuit ended in the driveway to the Carpenters Union at 3900 Pan American Fwy NE. This is where deputies discharged at least one round at the car. There were no injuries to deputies or the suspects as a result of this incident. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident.
An extensive investigation of the scene is underway, and the area will remain closed while this process is completed. A Multi Agency Task Force was called to the scene and is now conducting a thorough investigation into the shooting.
BCSO tells us the investigation is on-going. We will update this story when we learn more information.
