Bernalillo County, Albuquerque. NM – After we inquired BCSO about a homicide investigation yesterday, Jayme Fuller BCSO PIO released details of an overnight homicide in North Albuquerque. In a statement she says:
“On the night of December 20, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies from the North Valley Command Center were dispatched to the 11000 block of San Bernardino Dr. NW in response to a report of a 65-year-old female found in distress in the middle of the intersection. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the female with lacerations to her arms and covered in blood. She led deputies to a nearby residence where a 37-year-old male was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Additionally, an 88-year-old male was found locked in a vehicle in the garage with blood on him and facial injuries. Both the female and the elderly male were transported to UNMH for treatment. Investigators have identified the deceased as Rastko Starcevic, who had been residing at the location with his 65-year-old mother and the 88-year-old man identified as William Howell. A dispute between Rastko and William is believed to have escalated, resulting in the shooting. William Howell is currently detained in the hospital as a suspect in the homicide.”
