BCSO Launches Intensive Investigations into Two Distinct Homicides, Tips Needed

Parajito Mesa –

The initial homicide under investigation by BCSO occurred in Parajito Mesa. On November 16, 2023, around 12:35 PM, a disturbing discovery unfolded in the Parajito Mesa area of Bernalillo County. BCSO officials say that their deputies found the lifeless body of a male, believed to be in his early twenties, initiating an active homicide investigation. BCSO goes on to say that due to the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation, specific details about the body’s condition cannot be disclosed at this time.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office’s Violent Crimes and Homicide Detectives, in collaboration with our dedicated Crime Scene Investigators, are diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding this crime. An autopsy was scheduled for earlier today, with the expectation that it will aid in the identification process through fingerprint and other forensic methods. BCSO said that their teams are meticulously scrutinizing evidence, including a thorough examination of tattoos, in an effort to identify the victim and notify their next of kin.

Southwest Albuquerque –

BCSO is also actively investigating a second homicide, which took place in Southwest Albuquerque. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into a fatal shooting that occurred late last night, on November 16, 2023, in the 2500 block of Cuatro Milpas Dr SW.

At approximately 11:18 PM, BCSO deputies responded to reports of a male yelling for help after sustaining a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The injured male was swiftly transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital by Albuquerque Ambulance Services. Despite the diligent efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased early this morning. The incident is being treated as a homicide. The identity of the male victim was not released but will be disclosed after next-of-kin notification.
