Albuquerque –
Deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office have been on scene at the 200 block of Camino Cuatro SW since 5:45 PM. Deputies are working to negotiate with a barricaded individual who had allegedly discharged a firearm in the area. According to reports, the individual allegedly threatened a family member prior to barricading himself in the residence.
When deputies arrived at the home, they purportedly observed a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire, raising further concerns for the safety and welfare of the individual who had barricaded themselves inside. Deputies began making public announcements asking the person holed up inside the home to come out.
Around 6:30 PM, a member of BCSO’s Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) responded to the scene in an effort to establish communication. After approximately three hours, BCSO’s attempts to contact the individual inside have been unsuccessful.
BCSO’s SWAT team is now at the location. BCSO Sergeant Connor Otero advised that 2nd St. west of Camino Cuatro SW is closed due. Residents in the area are encouraged to follow guidance from BCSO.
