Bernalillo County, N.M. – The Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office announced today that they have begun the official canvass of the 2025 City of Albuquerque Runoff Election at the Voting Machine Warehouse. The canvass is a required statutory process used to verify the accuracy and completeness of all election results before certification.
“We want to remind voters that the numbers posted online are unofficial,” says Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh. “The results are not final until the Canvassing Board completes its review and certifies the election on Monday.”
During the canvass, election officials will:
- Review all Election Day, early, and absentee ballot returns
- Reconcile the number of ballots issued, cast, and counted
- Confirm tabulator reports and precinct-level results
- Examine provisional ballots and determine eligibility
These procedures are conducted publicly and documented as part of the official election record.
Timeline
- Canvass begins: Today Dec. 10 at noon.
- Certification: Results will be presented for certification to the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners on Monday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Unofficial results remain available at results.bernco.gov. These results become official only after the canvass is complete and certified.
“Thank you, Albuquerque. We appreciate the voters, poll officials, and staff who made the runoff election a success,” adds Kavanaugh.
