Bomb Scare Shuts Down a small section of 4th St while Police Investigate

NW Albuquerque – A fake grenade caused some tense moments on a stretch of 4th street near downtown this afternoon for commuters and neighbors in the area. Someone called police to report a suspicious device near their vehicle and they called police to investigate. Officers did send their tactical units and a bomb unit to investigate further.

Traffic was shut down in both directions on 4th St NW between Headingly Ave NW and San Clemente Ave NW while officers determined what the device was. A little after 4PM Officers had opened traffic back up and it was flowing normally again.
