Monday around 2:30PM Albuquerque Police were called out to an active shooter situation near Montgomery and Tramway in the Glenwood Hills neighborhood. A large police presence flooded the area shutting down Montgomery east of Tramway.
Uniformed Officers and SWAT units from several agencies responded to the area. They quickly located the victims and offender near the far east end of Montgomery.
At least two people were killed. APD has said it all ended with an officer involved shooting killing the suspect.
Police said at least two officers suffered non life threatening injuries when shot by the offender. Police are still actively investigating the situation and will until late in the evening.
A female in a vehicle was killed by the still unidentified offender and a juvenile female was also wounded by the offender. A male was also shot in the leg by the offender and he drove himself to the hospital.
The dead include the female who was shot by the offended and the suspect who was shot by responding officers. It is still unclear what the connection between all the parties were to each other or if it was a random act of violence.
It is unknown if the weapons used by the offender were legally obtained or were stolen.
A resident witness told us they heard at least 15 shots coming from the area.
