Albuquerque, NM –

On February 21, 2024, around 12:36 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) received a dispatch to 304 Laguayra Dr. NE concerning a potential fire at a single-family residence. This property was reportedly empty and being remodeled. Upon arrival, Engine 12 noted a commercial dumpster ablaze in the driveway. AFR successfully contained the fire within 20 minutes. No structural damage was reported, and there were no civilian or firefighter injuries. According to AFR, the cause remains undetermined, and no further information is currently available.

Also on February 21, 2024, around 12:10 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue received a dispatch to 524 Kentucky St. SE following reports of an outdoor fire at a single-story duplex. The first AFR unit to arrive confirmed a structure fire and requested nine additional fire units.

The fire was contained within 14 minutes of AFR’s arrival. The rear unit of the structure sustained severe damage, having been previously burned. Two civilians from a nearby residence were transported to local hospitals for non-emergency treatment.

AFR Fire Investigators are present at the scene to ascertain the cause and origin of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time. No further information is available currently.
