Albuquerque –

At a press conference this evening, it was announced that another officer related to the FBI raids and DWI scandal has resigned.

APD’s civilian Public Information Officer, Gilbert Gallegos, stated that Harvey Johnson, on the eve of his internal affairs interview, has chosen to resign instead of attending his scheduled IA interview tomorrow.

Officer Alba also tendered his resignation just before his IA interview. This makes three officers total who have resigned related to the ongoing DWI/FBI scandal. Lieutenant Justin Hunt also chose to retire before his IA interview was even scheduled.

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office have not yet unsealed any documents pertaining to the search warrants or the raids conducted at several homes of APD officers, an attorney’s home office, and the home of that attorney’s paralegal.

The officers, whether current or former, or other individuals mentioned in our stories, have not been formally charged with any crimes.
