Albuquerque-

This morning police were lead on a police chase with the male offender who was wanted in connection with the shooting and wounding of a New Mexico Stare Police lieutenant on Friday near Sedillo Hill on a bridge overpass.

Police used a spike belt and took the man in custody near Central and Juan Tabo in Albuquerque. It was a massive crash scene with multi vehicles that brought the chase to an end. Many law enforcement agencies were involved in the apprehension.

The suspect was taken to UNMH and will be booked into Bernalillo County Detention Center when he is medically cleared.

Yesterday NMSP had suspects that turned out not to be the offenders.

We will update information as it becomes available.
