SE Albuquerque –
Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched early Monday morning in regards to a shooting on the I-25 Frontage Road south of Avenida Cesar Chavez Blvd. When officers arrived they found a car with bullet holes and two victims. One was deemed critical and the other was last reported to be in stable condition. Both victims were transported to UNMH immediately after the shooting. One victim had a gunshot wound to the chest and the other victim was shot in the back of the head.
The suspect vehicle is possibly a newer model white truck that had four occupants inside that fired the shots into the vehicle.
APD initiated a violent crimes call out and detectives investigated the scene. The car involved could be seen with at least 5 bullet holes on the driver side of the Nissan Altima.
In a Twitter post, APD said one of the victims died on the weekend of 4/30/2022 as a result of gunshot wounds sustained from this incident. This does count as a homicide and is the 48th person killed in 2022 by result of homicide.
