UPDATE:
The NMSP handled the investigation on this crash. We subsequently learned that one rider died from their injuries.
That exit ramp on SB I-25 @ San Mateo is a hoot. It’s one of the last Cloverleaf ramps that turns 360 degrees. Would not surprise me if a couple of knuckle heads were racing towards the exit and ended up launching off that berm.
I am a family member of time couple that was hit on the off ramp from I-25 to osuna/San Mateo on Saturday night. Dan Rivera was killed and his wife was seriously injured. We are trying to find out who was the driver of the car who hit them from behind and caused this awhile accident. That person fled the scene. None of the news stations are reporting that it was a hit and run. Please help…. If you can report any info… greatly appreciated.
So sorry for your loss. I worked with Dan just before he retired a few weeks ago and we are just devastated to hear this tragic news. I hope they find the person who did this. Please accept our sincerest condolences!
