The reporting party stated she has not been able to reach her husband, Joel Valdez, since September 18, 2025. The last contact was a text message from Joel on that date, saying he was heading home from his job in Silver City. Joel was driving his white 2015 Chevrolet pickup, bearing New Mexico license plate 248THP.

Joel, known to many as “Deano,” is a retired Marine combat veteran who completed two tours in Afghanistan. According to social media postings, he is a father of three and lineman. As a lineman, he has responded to numerous emergencies and natural disasters.

Concerns grew more urgent when Joel’s phone was turned off and his debit card was fraudulently used at multiple locations in Santa Fe by unknown individuals.
