Christopher Barela is wanted for an outstanding warrant for an open count of murder. Officials believe he is armed and dangerous, and urge the public to avoid him. According to a criminal complaint, Barela is accused of murdering a man on December 11, 2024, on the 13400 block of Turquoise Trail. Barela was never captured for the murder he stands accused of.
Barela does have an extensive criminal history. He has numerous charges for Larceny, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Felony, Unlawful Carrying of a Deadly Weapon, Receipt, Transportation or Possession of a Firearm or Destructive Device by Certain Persons, Receiving or Transferring Stolen Motor Vehicle, and so on. We counted over 30 charges on NM Courts since 2010.
