Albuquerque – One of APD’s sworn Public Information officers, Chase Jewell, informs us via email that officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting overnight. At around 3:00 am today, APD officers responded to the Love’s Gas station located at 2200 6th St NW. This is where the shooting took place. The armed suspect is deceased; he died at the hospital following transportation. All officers are okay, and there were no reported injuries to other citizens.
The area has a large police presence, and members of the community are asked to avoid the area. APD reportedly has 6th St blocked in both directions near the Loves, and entrances/exits onto 6th St to and from the freeway are currently closed.
