Deputies Shot at in South Valley, Suspects Caught After Tense Search

A SWAT team searches a house in the south valley trying to locate suspects.

ABQ South Valley –

Lizeth Iguado and Felicia Gonzales car jacked a black jeep and Bernalillo County Sheriff deputies were able to locate them. That is when shots were fired at deputies. The offenders fled on foot and a massive search happened.

“Deputies were shot at, but are not injured. There is a heavy law enforcement presence in the area of Luchetti (between Coors Blvd and Isleta Blvd). We are attempting to locate two individuals that fled on foot in the area as we speak. They have not been apprehended,” said PIO Deputy Angelina Navarro of BCSO.

Multiple Police agencies from the Albuquerque Metro area were assisting in the man hunt. State Police is also assisting by providing their helicopter assisting in the search.

The two females were found in a trailer that they did not own. The two have an extensive criminal record.

The charges are as follows:

Both offenders – Attempt to commit a Robbery, Agg Assault on a Peace Officer, Conspiracy Iguado was additionally charged with Felon in possession and a felony probation violation.

Two firearms were located. One in the Jeep and one on the ground near where the suspects were located.
