Disgraced Politicians Name Removed from African American Performing Arts Center

The African American Performing Arts Center and Exhibit Hall had former State Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton name on the building. It was removed earlier on April 1st, 2024.

Albuquerque –

On April 1st, 2024, the African American Performing Arts Center and Exhibit Hall had the name of Sheryl Williams Stapleton removed from the building. This was not an April Fools’ Day stunt. While we were driving around the War Zone looking for daily shenanigans we noticed her name had been haphazardly removed from the building. It looked like a quick fix as the state of New Mexico figures out how to find the matching paint code for a proper touch up later.

Former State Representative Stapleton is now facing state and federal charges stemming from the bilking of boatloads of money from a scheme where she was diverting money from a business she owned.

A federal grand jury indictment filed last Tuesday outlined more than 3 million dollars in funds which were being funneled to a Washington D.C. based company she helped create.

Williams-Stapelton is facing 30 federal counts of bribery, mail fraud, and money laundering. She is also facing 28 state charges related to money laundering and racketeering.

A joint group of New Mexico law enforcement agencies raided her home back in 2021. It took nearly 3 years for her name to finally be removed from the African American Performing Arts Center and Exhibit Hall.

  1. Absolutely hilarious that that WOKE, DEI, self-absorbed, arrogant, narcissistic, corrupt, uppity skank, thief ever had her name on ANY building. Just shows how ignorant and clueless the colored people are for having her name on that building. BTW, can anyone tell me where is the White American Pavilion is, or when White American month is?
