According to a criminal complaint, police were dispatched to a gas station in regards to Sanchez following a female inside and banging on the bathroom door. He then left the store and went to the parking lot. When an officer arrived he saw Sanchez stumbling to get back inside his BMW.

He told officers, “I’m not causing problems, I’m just looking for my uncle Felipe Chavez.”

The complaint goes on to say Sanchez drove from Lemitar, New Mexico to Socorro. The officer noticed blood shot and water eyes with slurred speech. Sanchez denied having any alcohol. Later, he recanted the statement and admitted to having 3 Coors Lights.

Sanchez did perform a breath test with results of .18. and 17. These readings are in the aggravated DWI range, more than double the minimum range of .08.

Sanchez is on probation until 2031 due to a shooting from a motor vehicle conviction in Albuquerque that happened in July of 2025. It is unclear yet how this latest arrest will affect his probation in Albuquerque.
