Jesse David Sanchez, 20, of Albuquerque.

SW Albuquerque – Albuquerque Police Department officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash at around 8:40PM. Turns out this was about 20 minutes after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.

According to a criminal complaint, when officers arrived on scene they found Philadelphia Eagles fan, Jesse David Sanchez, 20, of Albuquerque sitting on a demolished wall and a crashed vehicle was nearby. The crash left a wake of destruction from his alleged post party drunk driving.

While driving Sanchez managed to hit two pedestrians walking their dog and shortly after that he crashed into a residential concrete wall near the 800 Halter block SW. One of the pedestrians was taken to UNMH to be evaluated. The complaint does not indicate if the dog suffered any injuries. Before police arrived witnesses on scene were attempting to call 911 but Sanchez grabbed their phones and smashed them to the ground making them useless. Sanchez then had a physical altercation with the witnesses.

Sanchez advised an officer that this all started because he was having a verbal dispute with a friend while he was driving. The officer noticed blood shot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. Sanchez told officers that he had three shots prior to driving. Sanchez also admitted to hitting a parked vehicle and later a fence.

Sanchez was booked on a DWI charge, two batteries, two criminal damage to property over $1,000, two aggravated batteries with a deadly weapon(vehicle), and leaving the scene of the accident.
