On August 20, 2024, at 3:35 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to reports of a possible structure fire at the NAPA Paint Store on 1005 2nd St NW. Engine 4 arrived to find a large commercial building with a fire outside, threatening the front of the structure.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control within seven minutes. AFR limited the damage mostly to an exterior wall and the electrical panel was found to be melted. Firefighters halted the fire’s spread into the building within 30 minutes.

AFR Fire Investigators are on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. At the time of this posting, a cause has not been determined.
