Early Morning RV Blaze Threatens Homes, Quickly Contained by AFR Crews

At 6:21 AM on October 28, 2024, Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a 71C-2 vehicle fire involving an RV at 13215 Slateridge Dr NE.

Upon arrival, Engine 16 confirmed a fully involved RV in a driveway, with flames threatening the residence and a neighboring home. The fire’s intensity and the RV’s close proximity to nearby structures prompted an upgrade, bringing in Engine 8 (E8), Ladder 9 (L9), Squad 3 (SQ3), and Battalion 3 (BC3). Engine 16 deployed a line to knock down the fire and protect exposures. Engine 8 provided additional fire attack support, while Ladder 9 checked the threatened structures. Crews contained and extinguished the fire using tank water.

No one was injured, and crews are still investigating the cause.
